Tools#

The tools are arranged vertically on the left. The active tool is highlighted.

Tool Shortcut
Pencil B
Eraser E
Bucket G
Eyedropper I
Line U
Rectangle R
Filled Rectangle Shift+R
Ellipse C; hold Shift for a circle
Selection M; press Ctrl+T to transform
Text T

Left-click uses the primary color and right-click uses the secondary color. Press X to swap them. Select Open Color Picker to choose from the full color map and fine-tune red, green, blue, and opacity.

Import Images#

Choose a file, drag an image into the editor, or press Ctrl+V to paste an image. Common formats such as PNG, JPEG, and WEBP open in the crop window first:

  • Zoom in to inspect edges.
  • Move and resize the rectangular crop region.
  • Confirm to place only the selected area into the texture.

Selection and Layers#

After creating a selection, Pencil, Eraser, Bucket, and other tools only affect that area. Press Ctrl+T to move or transform selected content.

The lower-right Layers panel is always visible. Select, show, or hide layers, and use the icons to rename, delete, or merge them. Delete and merge actions ask for confirmation.

Text Layers#

The Text tool creates a movable layer instead of writing directly to the image. Drag the text or adjust its X/Y position before merging. Use at least 9px for the bundled pixel font.

Export automatically protects transparent edges so Minecraft does not crop empty texture borders.
